Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
