The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
