The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
