The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
