The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
