The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills - the Lord of the Creation. 29
