The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
