The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
