Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
