Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble recorders, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 to burn therein. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
