Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know whatever you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
