The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
