The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a Great Day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On thrones, watching. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
