The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 for a great Day, 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
