The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a Great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
