The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
