The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
