The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
