The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
