The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
