The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
