The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
