The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
