The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
