The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
