The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
