The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
