The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 by a burning fire 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
