The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
