The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 by a burning fire 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
