The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
