The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
