The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
