The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
