The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), glorify the Name of your lord, the Most High, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 who determines the nature [of all that exists], and guided it accordingly; 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah): 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
