Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets set forth 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
