Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
