Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
