It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. 16 When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
