Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
