Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
