Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
