Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
