The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 For you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city. 2 and I swear by the parent and his offspring: 3 We have indeed created man surrounded by hardships. 4 What, does he think none has power over him, 5 He shall say: I have wasted much wealth. 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? 8 a tongue, and two lips, 9 And shown him the two highways? 10 But he did not venture to scale the difficult steep. 11 And what will make you know the path that is steep? 12 (It is) to free a slave, 13 Or, feeding, in a day of privation, 14 To an orphan, having relationship, 15 Or the poor in distress; 16 so that he becomes one of those who believe, charge each other to be patient, and charge each other to be merciful. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left. 19 The Fire will be shut over them (i.e. they will be enveloped by the Fire without any opening or window or outlet. 20
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
