The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its rising brightness 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 And [by] the day when it displays it 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 The heavens and its architecture, 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 He who nourishes it will surely be successful, 9 and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they gave him the lie, and cruelly slaughtered her - whereupon their Sustainer visited them with utter destruction for this their sin, destroying them all alike: 14 And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof. 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
