The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "This is most surely a skillful magician, 109 Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 to summon every wellversed sorcerer to you' 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said: "Is there reward for us if we succeed?" 113 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 114 They said, 'Moses, wilt thou cast, or shall we be the casters?' 115 He replied, "Throw yours first." Their great magic bewitched people's eyes and terrified them. 116 And We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): "Throw your stick," and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they showed. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 The magicians who were defeated on the spot and were proved to be worthless, 119 And the wizards fell down prostrate, 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 123 I will cut off your hands and feet on the alternate sides and crucify you all." 124 They replied: 'We shall surely turn to our Lord. 125 Will you punish us just because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance and cause us to die as those who have submitted [to You].' 126
