The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour, 1 and by the moon as it follows it, 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 And by the night as it conceals it (the sun); 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 And the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 then inspired it to understand what was right and wrong for it. 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 In response they belied him, and hamstrung the she camel so Allah put ruin over them because of their sins and flattened their dwellings. 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
