The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
