(O Messenger! Remind the Muslims of the occasion) when you went forth from your home at early dawn (to the battlefield of Uhud) and placed the believers in battle arrays. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 121 Two groups among you almost lost courage despite having God as their Guardian. The believers should always have trust in God. 122 for, indeed, God did succour you at Badr, when you were utterly weak. Remain, then, conscious of God, so that you might have cause to be grateful. 123 When you O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) said to the believers, “Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord may support you by sending down three thousand angels?” 124 Rather, if you have patience and are cautious, and they suddenly come against you, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand marked angels' 125 Allah did not make this to be except as glad tidings for you, so that your hearts might be comforted. Victory comes only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 126 In order that He may cut off a part of unbelievers or overthrow them, and they turn back in frustration. 127 You have no say in this affair to decide whether He will relent towards them or He will punish them: they are wrongdoers. 128 To God belongs all that is in the heavens and earth; He forgives whom He will, and chastises whom He will; God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. 129
