The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
